Laminate | Styles

Laminate is the stylish result of continuing breakthroughs in modern technology and manufacturing methods. There are styles that convey the authentic look of wood or the classic appeal of natural stone tiles. Various shades and finished allow you to choose the wood look down to the species, and now laminates are mimicking hardwood even more. Some laminates offer beveled, distressed, and highly textured options; giving your floor not only the look of hardwood but the feel of it too. Consider laminate for a distinctive look that's beautifully affordable... and affordably beautiful.

Knowing the basics of laminate and laminate installation can provide you with a firm foundation upon which to begin your laminate shopping journey. Laminate has improved drastically since its inception. Laminate flooring is all installed with a floating method. This means the flooring is not glued to the subfloor, rather a click and lock system on each piece holds them securely together and they are installed floating over a sound reducing underlayment.

There a several qualities of padding underlayments available. Some offer exceptional sound reduction wile others have vapor and moisture reduction and then some offer all three. The sound reduction of the padding is rated by the IIC rating. This is a good way to compare the qualities of the underlayment. The higher the IIC the better sound absorption it has.

Moldings cover the space allowed for flooring to expand and contract and also transitions to any adjacent floors. These are made to coordinate with every style and color.
